about this blog

Welcome to the BLOG!

Here is where you will find everyday stuff that I believe you can relate to. It’s not scripted, but it is found in scripture!!!

We should strive for a life where our thoughts begin to catch focus to what the Lord would want for us, not the daily mumbo-jumbo this world has to offer. Remember why the Word Of God says in John 15:19, “If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.”

Honestly, you have a choice. Sometimes the choice is easy and often times it’s more difficult than what we would like. But it’s not because is all of a sudden in your face, but because we are saturated with what the world has to offer that we are desensitized to its devices making it increasingly challenging to recognize the truth, and the amber exit sign that’s flashing right in front of us...

Hey, I’m nobody. But I have news for you - neither are you. Now that we have established that we can pick up our identity in God’s word and live a fulfilled life walking with Him.

Here’s To Another Day!

Thinking a bit about what this year has brought, and what it will bring. I have determined to experience more fatigue than before.

I know that sounds weird but, I question if I really am wasting the breath that God gave me. What am I doing with the time he’s allotted me? Am I a producer or just a consumer? Do I get up and go or wait for it to come to me? God forbid - not anymore. Now is the time to move and be productive.

If not me, then who? If not now, then when? I… read more

I am finally tired of people looking at me funny, or asking me why I’m doing something a certain way, or it doesn’t take all of that... I have decided that you can look at me however you like or talk about me if that makes you feel better. And by the way, it does take all of that, and then some.

Get used to opinions because EVERYONE has one. Seldom do they offer help or a solution. They only have their opinion, which most of the time they have not tried themselves...

This is not a rant, but a call to action that I have accepted; to be up and actively pursuing what God has for me. At the end of the day I want God to say well done!

John 9:4 (NIV)

As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

It's Another Day The Lord Has Blessed Me

“It’s another day that the Lord has blessed me…”

True enough, it is another day that the Lord has blessed me. This is a line from a song that the saints would sing when I was growing up. I didn’t appreciate it then like I do now.

Out of all that I have experienced in my life I look around and see what the Lord has done for me. He has never failed me. I’ve been sad, I’ve been disappointed, I’ve been hurt, and I’ve been scarred. But God has been faithful through it all and has never failed me.

I encourage you to see what God has done in your life. Don’t focus on the people focus on God. I’m sure you will agree that it is another day that He has blessed you.

Jeremiah 17:7-8

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

Seize the Opportunity

Seize the Opportunity

I am sure that sounds familiar. You can read it in a book, here it on television, here it in many motivational talks/ self-help applications. Sure, it’s an applicable concept but many people can’t seize what they don’t realize is there, which results in missed opportunity.

Did you know that there are millions of people that don’t know that Jesus died for their sins? It’s true. In fact, you may be reading this now and this could be the first time you were ever made aware that Jesus Christ laid his life down so that your soul would not… read more

It’s true. In fact, you may be reading this now and this could be the first time you were ever made aware that Jesus Christ laid his life down so that your soul would not be lost.

Well, this season we commemorate this great sacrifice that ushered in an “OPPORTUNITY” for the redemption of our souls. Now you know.

As a result of sin, we are separated from God and all humanity is lost.It is because of God’s great compassion and love for us that redemption is provided through His son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus paid a price that we owed, and died a death that we deserved so we can “SEIZE” this opportunity - one that you don’t want to miss. It doesn’t promise riches or fame. You will not be popular. But it does promise to change your life, and live a life with purpose and eternal.

Opportunity comes by someone else paving the way and often born from a place of travail we can’t see, and pain we can’t feel.

The opportunity we seize is made available because of sacrifice, but is free to all who believe. This opportunity doesn’t require you to be prepared or be in position you only need to answer.

Hebrews 3:15

"Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts

Romans 10:9-10(NIV)

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Jesus died a physical death to offer you an opportunity at life not just on this earth but for an eternity.

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Basketball fans everywhere know that the month of March is "Madness" - March Madness that is. And, with all the excitement and our brackets filled out (in pencil) we watch the games untiringly through the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, Final Four, and the Championship. Basketball fans everywhere know that the month of March is "Madness" - March Madness that is. And, with all the excitement and our brackets filled out (in pencil) we watch the games untiringly through the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, Final Four, and the Championship. In recent years, many of the so called elite teams were upset by smaller schools that literally came from nowhere ending their chances at the big title.

I just want to share with you, that much like the team that came from nowhere, you too can rise up and take your rightful place. Unlike the basketball bracket that only has one winner, God has you positioned for victory no matter where you rank. He is the only one that can close doors no man can open, and open doors no man can close. God can take you from the back of the line and put you in the front because of your faith, and trust in him.

Here you come, out of nowhere!

Blessings,
